Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sports system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It is commonly known as ground and pound.
It came from Kodokan Judo ground fighting (newaza) fundamentals taught by a number of people including Takeo Yano, Mitsuyo Maeda and Yoshihiro Satake from Japan. They were then the disseminators in 1904 to demonstrate this kind of fighting to the world, including Brazil in 1914.
This martial art developed more in Brazil and is typically used in Valetudo competition. They were teaching this outside Brazil and became globally famous in the first Ultimate Fighting Championship. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is now in 2 kinds: original as from Gracie that focuses on self-defense, and new style for competition.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, and heavier assailant. This is by using proper technique and leverage. Most notably, it takes the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent.
313 Training Studio provides this special course for self-defense. We see how important it is for people to have at least the basic skills for protection in risky situations. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also improves body metabolism and body balance. As a result, it creates strong muscles, increases flexibility and even grants the ability to think faster with more focus.
