1. Do not skip breakfast
Eating breakfast helps you control your weight. Some people skip breakfast thinking it will help them lose weight. Missing meals doesn’t help you lose weight and is not good for you as you will miss out on essential nutrients.
2. Eat regular meals
Eating regularly during the day helps burn calories at a faster rate. It also reduces the temptation to snack on foods high in fat and sugar.
3. Eat plenty of fruit and veg
Fruit and veg are low in calories and fat, and high in fibre � three essential ingredients for successful weight loss. They also contain plenty of vitamins and minerals.
4. Get more active
Regular activity is key to losing weight and keeping it off. As well as providing health benifits correct exercise will help burn off the excess calories you can not cut through diet alone.
5. Drink plenty of water
Avoid the confusion thirst with hunger. You can end up consuming extra calories when a glass of water is really what you need. You should aim to drink six to eight glasses per day (1.2 litres) of fluids, preferably water, every day, more if it’s warm or you’re exercising.
